Street in Malmö

After the walk in the gardens, we went to the movie theatre to see the new Batman movie and while we were waiting, we sat on a bench and had an ice cream and enjoyed watching people walk by.

Flowers and windmill

We took a walk to Malmö Castle Gardens, I love that windmill

Kiss the bride

Here is a really fun tradition, it's fuzzy because I was trying to catch Fredrik as he kissed the bride - (he is the one in the white shirt). When the groom got up to go to the bathroom, all the other men in the room rushed to steal a kiss from the bride! The same happened when the bride left the table, but she came back too fast and caught one of the women kissing her husband!

Inge, Ingrid, and Ingela at the wedding reception

Fredrik's parents and sister are in this picture, we all got champagne and caviar hors d'oeuvres before the meal.

The reception tent

This is the reception area they built especially for the wedding, it was fixed up very nicely, with place for all 100 guests! This tent was built on a deck they had built and attached to the house just for this event, and the house was on the beach - very exclusive neighborhood (it was the home of the bride's parents)

Anders and Ingela all dressed up

Here are Anders and Ingela at the wedding we attended yesterday. I am not too sure who the woman is standing in the front....

Victoria and Mikael's wedding

Fredrik's cousin Mikael got married yesterday. The wedding was at the beach and the sister of the bride played violin for them. It was a nice entrance, the violinist walked a couple of steps behind them as they came down a shady path to the site. The bride's name is Victoria.

Pretty building detail

Nice detail on this building

Bridge and water

Picturesque view from one of the bridges in Stockholm. The castle is to the left just past the bridge.

Another nice picture

The lighting wasn't quite right, I was standing in an incredible archway and tried to get the detail of both the arch and the building in the background but it's a bit dark

Ingela

In Sweden, nobody wants to be the pig who takes the last slice of cake, so therefore when the platter went around again with just one slice left, everybody took a tiny bit of it! This is a phenomena that we Americans living here never get tired of laughing about. Here's Ingela taking her obligatory bit of it. Ingrid forced Thomas to eat the very last crumb, he doesn't care as much about these things as the grownups do.

Alison

Alison fell asleep waiting for the cake. Don't worry though, I woke her up in time to get a slice.

Ingrid and Ingela

I had to include everyone, this is Fredrik's mother Ingrid and his sister Ingela, industriously eating cake! Notice the rainclouds in the background, typical Swedish summer we are having.

The cake

The cake! It was Diam (Heath bar for the Americans). I'm going to get that recipe and post it in here soon, it was really good.

Birthday boy Inge

Fredrik's father Inge Börjesson, he turned 63 on Thursday and goes for his early retirement in 3 weeks!

Fredrik and Anders

Fredrik and his brother-in-law Anders, I most likely interrupted an important soccer discussion to make them smile for the camera...

Ida and Thomas working a crossword

This is Fredrik's grandmother Ida, asking Thomas for help with a crossword puzzle

Birthday card

This is the birthday card I made for Fredrik's father Inge for his birthday

Birds at Ven

While biking along on Ven, we looked out into the sea and saw this - I had to zoom in to the max to get this shot, it was much more picturesque in real life!

Camping at Ven

Since everyone else was gone having fun, Harley and I went camping on the island of Ven last weekend. Here we have finally managed to get the tent put up!
