Melody Festival

Fredrik just informed me that he got us tickets to see the Fourth quarter-finals on Saturday, where voters will determine Sweden's entry into the Eurovision song contest!
It is a song contest that all European countries are invited to enter each year. Famous Swedish singers compete with each other performing newly-composed songs and people call in and vote for their favorite, then the winner from each country goes to the big final, this year it will be in Moscow.
We watch the contest on TV, taking turns with friends hosting a little party for nearly every quarter final during the contest; this year one of the quarter finals will be held in the arena in Malmö. Here's more:

No picture today, but I will be posting more tomorrow when I shop for what to wear, and of course on Saturday during the event. I am so excited!

Bearnaise sauce

Here is proof that I made my own bearnaise sauce from scratch. It wasn't the first attempt - that first one ended up in the garbage can. Second attempt worked like a charm!

Fredrik playing in the snow

Unfortunately, the snow was gone later that same day, we had about 6 inches

Ingrid's birthday cards

I actually talked Harley into helping, he made the one on the left and I made the one on the right

New card for Fredrik

Yes, he saw the other one on my blog! I was forced to make him a new one so he'd be surprised. I got him a cookbook by Gordon Ramsay and he got me a teddy bear with a silver necklace and heart

04 February

I hope Fredrik doesn't log in here and see the valentine I made him haha. The other card is for some friends of ours who just moved into their new house. It says 'good luck with the new house' in Swedish

Sunday lunch out

We went out to eat for lunch on Sunday, we ordered this - it was called Mpekri Meze and was really good! We have eaten at this Greek restaurant a few times before, the food is always excellent and their coffee is among the best we have found in Malmö.
