Annual Finnstorp fishing trip

As usual, Fredrik was the only one who caught any fish. Here they are, there were 3 of them but the other one was too small to keep lol

Annual Finnstorp fishing trip

The weather started out nice, there were no mosquitos and it was warm but cloudy so we didn't get sunburned.

Annual Finnstorp fishing trip

It is very nice here, the water this year was so covered in water lilys that it was hard to find a spot for the fishing line - but they were also blooming white and pink. The nature here is beautiful, it's so peaceful and there are trails around the lake and up on the cliff on the far side of the lake.

Tjej day

Me, Maggie, Nicole, and Kathleen went to Ystad for a girl's day out. It was after 12 so we decided on beer instead of coffee - well, Maggie had a coffee :D

Tjej day

Ystad is home to Sweden's oldest monastery, Gråbrödraklostret (Grey Friar's Monastery). It is now a museum. It was first built in 1267. This picture was something I thought my father might be interested in; coats of arms. More about the monastery here: http://www.ystad.se/Ystadweb.nsf/AllDocuments/6B4374CCBB5D5D88C1257308004147E6

Tjej day

I liked this room, the ceiling was awesome and there were animal skins on the benches

Tjej day

Some old buildings in Ystad. This district was what we came to see; there are 300 half-timbered buildings like this, and many of them are open to the public as cafes, restaurants, craft shops and more.

Tjej day

This was a nice way to beautify an old dead tree stump, this horse overlooks the outdoor eating area of a very popular cafe', we stood in line to get coffee there but then saw that the line went around and around inside the building and it was too much to expect from 4 coffee-craving Americans so we went elsewhere.

Tjej day

We popped into a little pottery shop and found this guy looking at us from a shelf high up on the wall. It looks like something my dad would draw!

Tjej day

An old building in Ystad, this was the entrance to the pottery shop we visited.

Evening stroll

This is the lake at the park near our new apartment; it was so peaceful at this time of evening when we went for a walk.

Flowers at Pildamsparken

Trees

In Pildams parken is a wide open area that is perfectly round and the trees are clipped like these so that you feel you are in a bowl. It is called The Plate I think in Swedish - all the trails that lead into and around that part of the park are clipped in this fashion. At the far end of this path is a tower but it's hard to see in this photo.
